Bad Uncle is a four-piece, accordion driven, in-your-face rock n roll band that combines growling Waits-esque vocals, genre-bending guitar wizardry and driving upright slap bass and trash can drums.

Sometimes referred to as “Nightmare Folk” and with a nod to 1950’s horror camp, Bad Uncle combines a myriad of genres from gypsy-folk to rock to disco while telling stories of the absurd, the macabre and sometimes even with some self reflection.

“Horredous Monsters”, their 7th album and first vinyl pressing was released in October of 2025 to a sold out Petit Campus in Montreal and their discography dates back to 2009, including “The Surgeon’s Lament” which serves as the soundtrack for a circus show/ rock opera, released and performed in 2013.  Bad Uncle continues to perform with circus and burlesque acts from all over Quebec, including back to back nights at Montreal’s M-Telus with Le Cirque de la Gorgone in September of 2023.

Bad Uncle has brought their high energy, frenzied dance-floor-inducing show to folks all over Quebec, the East and West coasts of Canada and The United States, and have shared the stage with many well known acts, such as The Quebec Redneck Bluegrass Project, The Dreadnoughts, That Handsome Devil, Bloodshot Bill, White Cowbell Oklahoma, The Barons of Tang, The Unsettlers and The United Steelworkers of Montreal.

Bad Uncle has also played numerous festivals, such as Messtival, Musee du Rock,

Folk sur le Canal, Buckfest, and Fabuleux Festival International du Folk Sale, to name a few.
