The Hypocondriacs - Les Soirs d’été de Shediac 2022 Summer Nights

Hailing from Fredericton, NB, this six piece powerhouse is taking Eastern Canada by storm with their high octane live show; prolific heartfelt ballads, and superb musicianship.

The band has opened for Trooper, The Reverend Horton Heat, Kathleen Edwards, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real & Corb Lund to name a few. Winner of Emerging Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, SOCAN Sound of the Year & Country Artist of the Year by Music NB.

The Hypochondriacs are: Josh Bravener (lead vocals/guitar), Connor Fox (lead guitar), Andrew DeMerchant (drums), Kelly Waterhouse (vocals/sax), Jeannine Gallant (vocals/trombone) and seasoned bass player Jamie Guitar, the Hypochondriacs have resurrected from the traditional country crypt a fresh and raw take to the standard genre. Though profoundly influenced by the likes of George Jones, Hank Williams and Johnny Cash through further inspection one will hear early Memphis rockabilly, a taste of New Orleans, 60's doo-wop, 70's folk-rock and all the way up to the ’80s cowpunk movement. Originaire de Fredericton, au Nouveau-Brunswick, ce groupe de six musiciens prend l'Est du Canada d'assaut avec son spectacle de haute voltige, ses ballades profondes et sa superbe musicalité.

Le groupe a fait la première partie de Trooper, The Reverend Horton Heat, Kathleen Edwards, Lukas Nelson et The Promise of the Real & Corb Lund, pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. Gagnant du prix de l'artiste émergent de l'année, de l'album de l'année, du son de l'année de la SOCAN et de l'artiste country de l'année de Music NB.

Bien que profondément influencés par des artistes comme George Jones, Hank Williams et Johnny Cash, en y regardant de plus près, on peut entendre le rockabilly des débuts de Memphis, des sonorités de la Nouvelle-Orléans, du doo-wop des années 60, du folk-rock des années 70 et jusqu'au mouvement cowpunk des années 80.
